When is the best time to have an outdoor family photo session?
The best light for photography is in the late afternoon and evening. The light is not as harsh and makes for great pictures.
What do we wear?
I typically recommend coordinating your outfits, so that everyone's coloring works together. I suggest no bright colors like hot pinks, oranges or reds, or colors that clash, no logos, or writing on shirts, please. Denim works well nearly all the time and white, off-white and creamy tones can work with nearly every person and every season.
What about makeup?
Make sure your skin is matte. What this means is you don't want your skin to look shiny and reflective. You want it to look flat. No use of shimmer, glitter and shiny makeup products. We can always look into the possibilities of working with a hair and makeup artist if you'd like.
Do you offer mini-sessions?
No, mini-sessions are not conducive to my style. I am not after that one great shot but rather a collection of images for lifelong appreciation.
Can we take pictures with our phone or camera ourselves during the session?
No, I am the exclusive photographer. Only bring those people being photographed for the session. There is no other photography allowed from family and friends during the portrait session.
How long will it take for my products to get processed and delivered?
Please note that there is a 4-6 weeks turnaround time for your beautiful products.
How do I pay for my session?
Capture What You Love accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), cash or check. There is a $25 charge for returned checks. 9% sales tax will be added to all session fees and products in accordance with CA state law.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, I do! When you place your order, you have the option to set up payment terms, in up to three installments. I will secure your order by credit card, and you may pick your order after the final payment has been received.
